Blue knitted hatEach year I make a limited quantities of hand knitted hats with the yarn I spun. This particular style has been requested over the years because of the double brim hiding the ears and forehead properly, which is a necessity here in Quebec with our cold and windy winters. They requires between 1 and 2 skeins of art yarns knitted with needles size 9 10mm, and about a half skein of alpaca in bulky weight. All those hats have a double brim of 100% alpaca,

They are weak acid dyes so white vinegar can be used to fix the dyes making them suitable for the home dyer

You can come to my studio to card your fibre with my electric carder (Mad battr from Strauch double wide)
