HL Leonard Model 51-5 Hunt Bamboo Rod 8'6" 3/2 #5For sale here is a H. L. Leonard Hunt Model 51 5 bamboo rod 8 1 2 feet, 3 2, for a 5 weight line. This rod comes from shortly after Tom Maxwell's tenure during the Larry Foster era, circa 1982. Serial number 8290. The rod is in excellent original condition, all sections are full length and straight. There are a few very minor use marks in the varnish. Beautiful red wraps over moderately tempered cane. Deep purple tipping at the winding check, male
The plastic is still on the grip and the guides have no sign of any brassing
The reel seat is a down locking screw lock of nickel silver with a pocket cap
The spool is 15/16" wide
Western-style grip with an uplocking screw lock seat and a varnished butternut spacer
The end cap has a brass plaque hand engraved with a light scroll work treatment and "Spinoza Rod Co serial #12
