The cane is very evenly flamed and the varnish is superb as only Maxwell's work can be
8' 2/2 for a #6 line
with both Tom Maxwell and Tom Dorsey's handcraft evident (I may have also been there when this rod was made)
It also has the original Payne ferrule plugs which I've often admired
heavily ventilated reel with a shiny lustrous black type III anodizing
The reel appears in little-used condition but the reel and spool need to be cleaned due to the disintegrated foam backing adhering to the aluminum surfaces
